Grade 1 In the first grade, we have talked about the pop artist Andy Warhol these two weeks. They had a good understanding of what pop art is. They knew what pop artists are fond of using to make art, like everyday objects, celebrities, cartoons and famous brands. We also appreciated some of his famous artwork and recreated one of them, which is Campbell’s soup cans. Students drew in the brand of soup they are and named the flavor of soup. Grade 2 In the second grade, we are studying a Japanese female artist- Yayoi Kusama. We talked about her lifetime and stories. Students learned about that most of her artwork was influenced by her mental illness. She created various kinds of works of art, like paintings, sculptures, and performances, but they have one thing in common-dots. In this project, students are going to design a raincoat by covering it with colored stickers. Let’s be obsessed with dots! Grade 3-6 In 3rd grade our class worked on tree frog drawings, they used different paint and markers to create the pictures. In 4th grade students created raccoon collages and sea horses. The raccoons were made with different glued papers and markers. The seahorses were made with watercolor and collage. 5th grade students studied the artist Jim Dine and created drawings of tools. We covered value and proper shading technique in more detail with this lesson. Our 6th grade class learned about the Lascaux cave paintings and made cave paintings using earth tones, in a separate lesson we also covered circle geometry in art Jim Dine , Lascaux and Campbell評論已關閉。
